This blog is to inform students and their families about our upcoming program in Havana,  Cuba. There are a total of ten going--eight students, my wife, and myself. Our address in Cuba will be 262 Lealtad, in Habana Centro, otherwise know as "Tony's." We have stayed there in the past on such workshop programs. Our hope is that we will be able to document multiple aspects of the Christmas and New Year's holidays in Havana. The other holiday which I am told is much less exciting now that Fidel has stepped down is January 1 as Independence Day for Cuba. I plan to post references to things the students should read as they prepare for the trip, a few old photos, and travel information. This blog is not intended to discuss the pros and cons of going to Cuba, spending money there, or other political issues. I will be happy to do that after the trip or you can visit my other blog, Que Bolà. I assure anyone with doubts that if they think a student's budget is going to impact the Cuban economy they are terribly confused.
